How the ongoing COVID 19 scenario is unfolding?

Here, I’m only putting my views on ongoing COVID19 scenario with respect to INDIA only.

This time last year, India witnessed low rates of COVID-19 infection, there were various theories out in the market indicates the factors that might leads to low rates of COVID-19 infection last year. Some of those included natural immunity and some also attributed it to the country’s harsh lockdown.

India was doing well specially in megacities like Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai had begun dismantling temporary COVID-19 facilities. Looking into the current scenario of April 2021, cases and deaths are soaring, majority of the hospitals running out of oxygen. The shortage of beds and acute spaces in hospitals creates panic situation amongst people. Few international articles also state this as complete failure of India’s Healthcare System. But this is not the end of the story.

India already went through a strict lockdown, that was imposed recently that people from villages were left stranded in cities, migrants are facing employment issues and rushing back to their hometowns for livelihood and safety, this causes increasingly large crowds gathering at asking for public transport. Meanwhile, large crowd gathering issue sometimes also caused for political rallies, religious celebrations, weddings and funerals.

India is one of the largest COVID 19 vaccine producers across globe. COVID-19 vaccines have also been rolled out in India for months now, but initial uptake was relatively slow. This seemed in part to be due to hesitancy and the perception that vaccine development was rushed. But it may also relate to a feeling of complacency stemming from the belief that the pandemic was waning in India.

Lastly, I would like to say that we all are holding our hands tightly and looking forward to stand with Indian Government to fight against COVID 19 in every possible manner.
